What is it?
PacePatrol is a useful utility that can help you monitor the work hours of your employees, ensure they are keeping to their contracted hours and keep a record of any benefits they have claimed.
PacePatrol has a simple, user friendly Java interface and a useful customizability feature so you can add new employee information fields and customize the application as you wish.
How to install?
The software can be installed on any server that has a JDK 1.2+ compatible environment, which means most Java-based servers will work.
The application is intended to be a "Server-Side" application - meaning that it runs on your server and that it communicates with your database.
The application does not need to be installed on any client machines.
Database Configuration:
The application runs under an MSSQL 2000+ or Oracle 8i+ database.
You will need to provide a database username and password and grant access to the database for your application to function correctly.
Security:
The application contains two security functions - that is the ability to view, add or modify an employee record.
If an employee record is added, you will have the option to deny or allow the employee to be updated by other users.
If the update is approved, a standard security mechanism will verify that the record is not changed and then execute the update, but if the update is denied, the record will not be changed.
The application also has the ability to add a field to a record which can only be viewed by administrators.
So to summarise:
1) A record is added
2) A user can approve or deny an update
3) A record can be approved but not edited (new records)
4) A record can be edited but not approved
5) An administrator-only field can be added
6) An administrator-only field can be edited
7) An administrator-only field can be viewed
PHP - web interface:
The application contains a PHP-based web interface which can be used to view the application's data.
There are no data-entry screens on the web interface - it is just a record viewer.
To use the web interface you will need an Apache web server that can use PHP.
The application will be installed on a website that will communicate with the database.
It will use a standard sessionid for authentication.
There is no way to login to the application using a FTP client - if you were 4f8c9c8613 kahluc
